The Iodine C Directset's outer races are formed from 52100 bearing steel with a black finish. Its good looks cover some thorough engineering though. It features custom made 28 ball sealed retainer bearings on top and 34 ball max bearings on the bottom. This combination saves weight where you can (the top race takes less punishment), but makes it tough where you need it, with a full complement of bearings for the bottom race.
