Wiggle Super Series The Long One Sportive (Road) - Under 16 Routes: The Hardest sportive in the UK?... 'You judge!' 'The Long One' is no ordinary sportive; this 'Super Sportive' which is longer than normal taking place on the weekend of the longest day of the year. The 207km (129 mile) sportive with 3669 metres of climbing is not for the faint hearted. Starting from the fascinating Open Air Museum just outside Goodwood, the course takes in some of the best climbs and quietest roads the North and South Downs has to offer. With 9 major climbs and 5 other significant climbs, completing this sportive could be your seasons crowning glory! If you are looking for a shorter option, there is a 104km (66 miles) route which is equally as challenging with 1356 meters of climbing. New for 2011 - Early Booking Reward. Based in the iconic New Forest National Park with has average speed limits of 20-30 miles a hour, the quite forest roads allows you dust of your bike and warm up your legs by taking in the breathtaking scenery in peace. Riding with 1200 like minded riders, will ensure you have a magical experience. The New Forest Spring Sportive has 2 route lengths (83 miles / 56 miles); the route differs from our end of session finale (The New Forest 100 Sportive), but incorporates the same spectacular scenery of the New Forest National Park, combined with wild animals grazing at the roadside and picturesque villages, a great early season ride. The Wiggle Super Series brings you something truly special, a new concept in sportive riding... the night time Sportive! Experience the tranquillity and exhilaration of riding with a group of like minded riders on quite roads in Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire at night. This well designed stunning course will do a figure of '8' around spectacular Graftham Water and Rutland Water, taking in the best, most peaceful roads on the way. In addition to the Epic 100 mile route, there is a Standard 70 mile route, allowing riders to choose their own challenge. So how will you know which way to go? The course will be extremely well marked with clear reflective signs. So your bike lights will light up the signs like Blackpool illuminations. What will you need? The obviously, a good set of lights with a decent burn time and some bright / reflective clothing. Except for that, what you would need for a normal sportive, food/ drink, spare tubes, pump etc. Note: all riders must have a bright rear light (Red). In the event Pre information pack we will provide information on how you can make your lights last long, the advantages of riding with other riders and what you should bring with you.
