Wiggle Super Series South Downs 100 Sportive (road) - Epic Route Sporting Events Wiggle Super Series Wiggle Super Series South Downs 100 Sportive (Road) - Epic Route: Now in its 3rd year, the South Downs 100 Sportive is a fantastic event taking in the very best roads and climbs the South Downs have to offer. This stunning circuit starts at Chichester and weaves through the breathtaking South Downs taking in the leg burning Old Winchester, Buster and Uppark Hills and rewarding you with view of the South Coast, the rolling patchwork Downs and the Sea. With 2 years of glowing reviews from riders, this is a great event which will test out your legs, before winter kicks in and the Sportive Season cools down. In addition to the Epic 100 mile route, there is a Standard 70 mile and a Fun 45 mile route, allowing riders to choose their own challenge. Difficulty Rating (5 being the highest). Wiggle Super Series Devils Punch Bowl Sportive (road) - Epic Route Sporting Events Wiggle Super Series Wiggle Super Series Devils Punch Bowl Sportive (Road) - Epic Route: The last Sportive in the 2011 Wiggle Super Series is a great way to end your 2011 season, before the winter kicks in! Starting close to the easy to access Devils Punch Bowl and from which the sportive gets it name. The course weaves through the scenic roads between the North and South Downs, looping around the stunning Devils Punch Bowl before heading up to the challenging North Downs briefly and then returns South to Hollycombe Steam Collection, which is the event Head Quarters. This Sportive has been designed to be slightly shorter than our normal sportives to reflect the time of year. But is still quite a challenge, as the course includes a couple of awesome hills to get the legs pumping and amazing descents to get the heart racing. Taking in the best of the varied landscape of Hampshire, Surrey and the North Downs. Although there are a couple of hills, everything is rideable. A great end of season sportive, on very quite roads, within a stunning area! 2 different ride lengths (75 miles / 50 miles) allows you to pick your challenge for a great day out. The Wiggle Super Series brings you something truly special, a new concept in sportive riding... the night time Sportive! Experience the tranquillity and exhilaration of riding with a group of like minded riders on quite roads in Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire at night. This well designed stunning course will do a figure of '8' around spectacular Graftham Water and Rutland Water, taking in the best, most peaceful roads on the way. In addition to the Epic 100 mile route, there is a Standard 70 mile route, allowing riders to choose their own challenge. So how will you know which way to go? The course will be extremely well marked with clear reflective signs. So your bike lights will light up the signs like Blackpool illuminations. What will you need? The obviously, a good set of lights with a decent burn time and some bright / reflective clothing. Except for that, what you would need for a normal sportive, food/ drink, spare tubes, pump etc. Note: all riders must have a bright rear light (Red). In the event Pre information pack we will provide information on how you can make your lights last long, the advantages of riding with other riders and what you should bring with you. This 3 part sportive starts from the iconic New Forest National Park, then jumps onto the ferry taking you to the Isle of Wight to continue your cycling trip. Price includes return ferry to and from Isle of Wight. The route sweeps south through the forest through picturesque villages with wild animals grazing at the roadside before arriving at Lymington where your timing will stop. You will board the next ferry, cross the Solent and arrive on the Isle of Wight. Your time will start again as you continue the 2nd part of your sportive around the sensational Isle of Wight. The route will head clock wise around the island and is jammed packed with quiet roads and coastline vistas! In no time you will arrive back at Yarmouth.
